Despite his preference towards solitude, after years of living on his own, even Reece began to get somewhat lonely. Around this time, as a means of truly challenging himself (& not at all related to the previously-mentioned loneliness), he decided to get to work on his greatest creation - an artificial human. It took months upon months of preparation, construction, & proper testing, but eventually, he finally succeeded. He named this android of his Serah.
While she's for all intents & purposes a robot, she looks & acts pretty much entirely human. Reece specifically designed her to be as human as possible in almost every conceivable way in order to prevent her from feeling alienated. In spite of this, she *does* still have several unique abilities that only a machine like her can do.
When she first woke up, Serah was nearly a blank slate apart from general skill knowledge (motor skills, how to speak English, etc.). Over time, she developed a personality of her own. She tends to stay at home most of the time unless she absolutely has to go out given how nervous she tends to get around unfamiliar people. Around people she knows like Reece, though, she's much more open & earnest. She's kind & considerate, to the point where she's taken it upon herself to perform all of the menial housekeeping duties (despite Reece's constant insistence that she doesn't need to).
One thing that tends to bother her, though, is her robotic nature. She's begun to accept it more & more recently, especially since she wants to do whatever she can to protect the things she cares for, even if it means using her "inhuman" abilities. Nevertheless, though, she hates being thought of as different from everyone else & thus tends to prefer keeping her usage of said abilities to an absolute minimum whenever possible.
Any normal person wouldn't be able to tell, but she's 100% mechanical right down to her core. In order to keep her from feeling different from anyone else (& thus try & avoid any sort of major robot rebellion issues), Reece specifically designed her to be as human as possible. Lots of her internal systems mimic human ones, even if they serve different purposes. For example, she can eat. She has artificial, functional taste buds, & any food in her stomach gets converted into a form of energy. With very few exceptions, her body is essentially a perfect mechanical replica of a human body. Her brain is, put simply, a mass of control & memory chips that operate her entire body. As the final step of her activation process, Reece copied over the parts of his own brain responsible for basic functions & skills onto her own. She tends to prefer to not use these, though, as she prefers to be viewed as a fellow human, nothing more.
Stored within her body are two different weapons that she can make use of whenever the situation arises. One of them is a naginata, the blade of which is stored in her right arm & the handle in her left. These can be ejected & combined to form the full weapon itself, which she can use to swiftly slash at enemies. The other is a series of laser cannons stored within her right arm. The mechanism is comprised of a grip handle, an outer circle of barrels to be used for rapid fire, & a central barrel made for sniping. Typically, the blasts these produce are kept at a rather low energy output designed to stun, although they *can* be made more intense in cases where they absolutely need to be.
